Club Rules |
GENERAL Abridged rules - a full set of club rules is available for inspection in the cabin. 1. Except when competing in the ring or working in the designated practice area animals must proceed at a walk. 2. Correct riding attire must be worn at all times while mounted on the show ground, particularly hard hats and riding boots or shoes. 3. No animal under 4 years old shall be allowed in any ridden class. 4. Stallions are welcome but must be bitted from yearling onwards. 5. The leader in all lead rein classes inc. Most Appealing must be over 14 years. 6. Lead rein competitors may not compete in any other class off lead rein. Any competitor coming off lead rein during the season must declare their intent as only one set of points will be counted towards the end of season trophies. 7. No junior competitor may wear spurs at any time on the show ground. 8. All perpetual trophies presented annually must be signed for and returned no later than the last show of the season. 9. All dogs must be kept on a lead whilst on the show ground. 10. Where the height of a horse/pony is in dispute a vets certificate may be requested or the animal measured. 11. Competitors may exercise their horse/pony in the area provided. They must not exercise in the car park or horsebox area or in spectator areas. 12. Except where those rules are inconsistent with the rules made by the SDSC, the rules of the B.H.S. and B.S.J.A. shall apply. 13. Lead rein classes - Children to be aged 8 years and under. Ponies not exc. 12.2hh. 14. First ridden classes - Children to be aged 10 years and under. 15. We strongly advise the wearing of body protectors. 16. Lead rein ponies must be in a snaffle bridle with the lead rein attached to the noseband. 17. A full set of rules is available for inspection in the cabin. 18. If insufficient entries, classes may be amalgamated. 19. Excessive use of the whip or ill treatment will not be tolerated. 20. Any type of abuse toward a judge or other club official is not acceptable and may result in membership being revoked. 21. Anyone parking a vehicle inappropriately will be asked to move it. |
